Digital Technology in Education

A range of tools and services have been associated with developing the young workforce including improving teacher knowledge through online Professional Learning Communities and teacher networks where information, advice and resources can be discussed and shared; virtual simulations of workplace scenarios and electronic careers databases that ensure advice is relevant and tailored to specific needs; the development of digital skills that are widely accepted as being a requirement of the 21st century workplace; using video conferencing and a range of communication technologies to involve employers in direct conversation with learners, teachers and parents; E-portals that allow teachers, employers, learners and parents to interact and support learning; mobile devices that support anytime-anywhere access to support and advice, the use of e-portfolios for the collection of evidence for evaluating attainment.
